More Comox Valley lifestyle! As I've reported earlier, I'm enrolled in the 10-month Professional Photography Certificate program at North Island College in Courtenay, BC. Courtenay is located in the Comox Valley of Vancouver Island, situated between the Georgia Strait on the east and the Vancouver Island Ranges on the west. Fittingly, the brand for tourism in the area is "Your mountain to ocean playground." Well, last Wednesday our Lifestyle Photography class explored the "mountain" part of that tagline and went on a snowshoeing expedition to a cabin on the slopes of Mount Washington. Actually, calling it an "expedition" is a bit of a stretch. More like snowshoed twenty minutes up a hill, hung out at the cabin while taking selfies and eating marshmallows, and dove into the snow and generally acted like fools on the way back down. Sometimes school isn't so hard.
